Our work

Typical projects

We work on projects in four of Analysys Mason's five practices: transaction support, strategy, regulation and policy and transformation. We specialise in combining strategy and operations with technology and financials.

Typical projects include assisting owners, board members and senior management with value-adding, realisable TMT insights; planning and executing high-value TMT-related tasks, such as due diligences, developments and in- and out-sourcing; assisting the government and the public sector in order to ensure that the Nordic countries have world-leading telecoms services; and helping entrepreneurs and investors with start-ups and transaction evaluations.

Hallvard Berg, Managing Partner

Welcome to the Oslo office! I have always had a keen interest in both technology and business, and I am a curious person that is constantly looking for challenges and opportunities. When I joined the company that now is Analysys Mason Oslo in the very early years of my professional career, I found it to be the perfect employer for someone with my interests and ambitions. I still do, because Analysys Mason is still on the cutting edge of the evolution of TMT, and is a very dynamic company with few constraints and barriers.

Our greatest asset is our people, and I am proud to manage a team of very experienced and highly competent colleagues who all are experts in different areas of TMT. My role is to make sure that my team members have what they need to assist our clients efficiently.

I joined Analysys Mason after graduating from the University of Oslo with a Master’s degree in economics. I wanted to work in consulting in order to acquire a broad set of skills for understanding, modelling and solving complex problems. I chose Analysys Mason to help me to develop my expertise in the telecoms industry – an industry that is constantly evolving and becoming more and more relevant for society in general and industry verticals in particular. Telecoms and information technology is a key enabler for change towards a more environmentally sustainable world. The first few months in the company have exceeded my expectations. I am thankful for the extensive and well-organised training programme, supportive colleagues and a great variety of tasks. The learning curve has been steep, but I am motivated to continue my journey in the company.

Amanda Birkeland Associate Consultant

Before joining Analysys Mason, I was a researcher at Simula Research Laboratory, where I headed a research group working on resilient networks after finishing my PhD. At Analysys Mason, I get the chance to apply the technical expertise and scientific methods acquired from my time in research to a range of challenging problems. Research and management consulting are in many ways quite different, but for me it has been rewarding to see that basic skills such as understanding a problem and designing an approach to suggest an improvement can be used in both contexts. I recommend Analysys Mason if you want to work with highly skilled colleagues with a range of different backgrounds and exciting clients from around the world!

Amund Kvalbein Partner

I joined Analysys Mason Norway in 2017 after having worked for a large mobile operator for 12 years and for public authorities for 6 years. I have had the chance to use my expertise and, together with Analysys Mason’s other telecoms experts, I have created opportunities for myself and co-workers to help new customers and new industries. Working for Analysys Mason has allowed me to gain expertise in new industries and markets at a much higher speed and to a larger extent than was possible in my previous jobs. I recommend Analysys Mason if you want to acquire a broad set of skills.
